Kate will be holding a Nia session with all conference participants this March. I’m very excited to get a chance to meet and learn from her there.

Kate has been a professional actor for almost 30 years. She was the recipient of two Drama-Logue awards for acting in Los Angeles. In 2004, Kate watched Angela Shelton on 48 Hours. It was not long afterward she saw Angela in Raleigh. When Angela invited someone from the audience to share their story, Kate went on stage! She pounded a chair with a bat; she told her story and she made a promise to Angela that she would stop abusing herself. It was a life changing moment. She received her White Belt training exactly a year after meeting Angela on that stage and she has been training and sharing this self healing practice ever since, going on to receive her Blue, Brown and Green Belts. Kate started her business and website www.naturenia.com and leads Nia trips to the mountains of Nicaragua and to the Greek Islands every year. Nia is a mind/body/spirit/emotion technique that blends dance, martial and healing arts. She enjoys sharing her love of nature and Nia with trip participants, dancing in the rainforests or on the Aegean Sea.
